Exhibits and Special Events
The Chicago Center for Green Technology hosts rotating exhibitions throughout the year. Themes of past exhibits included furniture created by local artisans from wood that was harvested from trees felled by the emerald ash borer, entries from sustainable design competitions, and art created from recycled material.
For inquiries regarding past and present exhibits, as well as proposals for future exhibits, please contact 312.746.9642 or firstname.lastname@example.org
All exhibitions are free and available for viewing on the 2nd Floor Hallway at the Chicago Center for Green Technology, 445 N. Sacramento Blvd. during regular building hours.
TITLE: Home Stormwater Management
A rain storm can mean flooded streets and basements, as well as combined sewer overflows (CSO's). Water that would normally be directed to the storm sewer is usable and an under appreciated resource. This educational exhibit shows how you can take advantage of the rain water, and how through a few simple actions you can lessen the strain on our sewers.
TITLE: Reclaimed and Reused Material Mural
Our Saturday volunteers, Laura and Irene, picked up some expired carpet samples, fabric samples, old picture frames, and more at Zero Landfill Chicago's last collection/distribution they held here at CCGT. Using these reclaimed/recycled materials, they created and are adding to a mural in the upstairs hallway. Come see their creativity and be inspired for what you can create with materials you already have! See how many different materials you can identify!
TITLE: Summer Education Boards
LOCATION: Resource Center
Our incredible volunteers have been looking at what people most often ask us about in the summer; as well as what they might not be thinking about, but should consider. From this information, they have created our summer education boards covering: gardening, ecotourism, DIY projects, Chicago specific events, and spring cleaning. Have a great idea to add? Write it in on our message boards!
